This introduction to museums, Charles Schulz, and Peanuts is specially designed for young students.
Children will enjoy a hands-on tour of the Museum
and see a Peanuts animated special. They will also
play drawing games and create their own cartoons.

The Art of the Story
Learn how Charles Schulz and other cartoonists use their
own life experiences to develop characters and convey stories in
just four cartoon panels. Explore the key elements of a story and
learn to tell your own story with images in a hands-on cartoon
workshop.

Cartoons make us laugh, tell stories, and comment on the world
around us. Learn how cartoonists use simple lines to show
complex characters and emotions. Students will tour the Museum
and create their own animation sequence for our giant zoetropes.

FOR 4TH GRADE AND ABOVE
NEW THIS YEAR
Character Creation Workshop
Discover how artists and cartoonists come up with ideas and create characters in this hour-long, hands-on workshop at the Schulz Museum. Students will work in small groups to create characters and cartoon stories. They will then bring them to life with various materials including Legos, action figures, cut-out collages, and stop-motion computer animation. Students will also have time to explore the Museum
Workshop limited to one class only.
