
CARTOONIST PATRICK MCDONNELL OF MUTTS FAME
TO SPEAK AT CHARLES M. SCHULZ MUSEUM—

Award-winning cartoonist Patrick McDonnell, creator of the popular comic strip, Mutts, will be at the Charles M. Schulz Museum on Saturday, October 27 from 1 to 3 p.m. McDonnell will speak about his work and sign copies of his new children’s book, Hug Time, featuring a cat named Jules who travels the world hugging endangered animals.

McDonnell has received many awards for his strip, including the National Cartoonists Society’s Reuben for Cartoonist of the Year, five Harvey Awards for Best Comic Strip, The Humane Society of the United States’ Hollywood Genesis Award for Ongoing Commitment, and a Sierra Club Award. McDonnell is also involved with many animal and environmental charities and is a member of the Board of Directors for both The Humane Society of the United States and the Fund for Animals.
